I am absolutely thrilled to hear that one of my images, 'Abandoned Boat' has been selected as the overall winner in Practical Photography and Digital Photo magazines 2012 "Photographer of the Year" competition!

The competition is sponsored by Jessops and Nikon and I have been lucky to receive a very generous prize as a result.

Wirral Open Studio Tour

I will be one of the 34 artists taking part in this year's Wirral Open Studio Tour, organised by Wirral Art. Follow the art trail around Wirral as artists open their workshops and display spaces to visitors during this unique event. I will be based in St. Luke's Church, Market Street, Hoylake along with 4 other artists and will be exhibiting and selling a selection of framed and mounted prints. I will also be carrying informal demonstrations of some of my digital post processing techniques.

Wirral Festival of Firsts
Friday 8th - Sunday 10th July
100's of artists, musicians and poets will descend on Hoylake during this weekend for the Wirral Festival of First. I will be at the contemporary art fair at Hoylake Chapel on Friday evening (6.30-8pm), Saturday (12 - 5pm and Sunday (2-5pm) along with 16 other local artists. I'll also have some work on display at the flower-themed event at Melrose Hall. It promises to be an exciting weekend of culture!

I am really delighted that one of my images, Sand Swirl, has been awarded the photographic prize at the 2011 Wirral Spring Art & Photography Exhibition. With over 100 local artists and photographers exhibiting their work this year, the standard was even higher than usual and so I felt very honoured that this image of Fort Perch Rock Lighthouse in New Brighton was chosen to receive the award.

The exhibition is running at the Williamson Art Gallery, Birkenhead, until 22nd May. Open Tues-Sun 10am - 5pm.

LOACA.ART at LEAF is Liverpool’s monthly showcase of the best of selected local original contemporary craft, art and photography. It offers a rare chance to buy unique objects and meet the makers and artists face to face.

Two of my framed prints will be shown in the 'Twinned' Group Exhibition, to be held in Liverpool as part of the Threshold Festival. One will be exhibited in the Contemporary Urban Centre (CUC) between 11-24 Feb. The other will be at Eggspace between 18 Feb-13 Mar.
